See your venue app on a guest's phone

Illustration of Brand Box in a venue. The Brand Box device plugs into the venue's TV, and a signal runs from it to the screen. The screen plays a real squeeze back: live rugby inside a Heineken Silver L-shape advert that reads "Connect to the Free Wifi or Scan the QR Code to Redeem". A second signal runs from that call to scan to a guest's phone, which plays the guest's journey: free Wi-Fi, register, answer, and show the QR code to claim. A note then appears for the venue: earn a share of advertising revenue.

Sound familiar?

  • Your screens show the game, but earn you nothing extra.
  • Brand promotions arrive one at a time, with paperwork and little follow-up.
  • You want to know more about the people who come through your door, without being intrusive.

What we bring

  1. Brand Box on your screens

A small connected device that plays campaigns on the TVs you already have, managed remotely so your staff do not have to.

  2. Campaigns your guests enjoy

Games, trivia, vouchers and rewards your guests can join from their phones while they are with you.

  3. Your venue details, kept current by you

Update your screens, Wi-Fi and contact details online, so campaigns are planned around how your venue really works.

  4. Footfall and dwell-time data

pod.ai and Lamp.ai devices in the venue, supplied with Moving Tactics, measure how many people are present and for how long, not who they are.

  5. Clear answers about guest data

Guests choose what to share, and we explain plainly what happens to it. Read our consumer explainer before you sign up.

What a venue earns and receives depends on its tier and membership. See the tiers and how venues earn, and what it costs.

Your plan is the membership you pay for. Your venue tier, which sets what brands pay for your screens, is confirmed when we review your venue. Bronze, Silver and Gold venues earn 30% of the brand advertising on their screens. See what a venue could earn or compare every feature.

What your guests do

From the door to the till, in seven steps. The platform runs the journey; your staff step in at the end to scan the code when a guest redeems.

  1. Pick your venue's Wi-Fi

Guests see the sign at the entrance and on your screens, then choose your free Wi-Fi network on their phone to reach the menu, specials and deals.

  2. Register, with their consent

They sign up in a few taps, or with a social account. The sign-up includes the consent that POPIA requires.

  3. Verify their number

A verification message goes to their phone on WhatsApp. Guests who signed up with a social account are verified without it.

  4. Answer one question

Every deal comes with a simple question, so the brand learns what guests want. It is insight for reward, and a returning guest is asked a new question.

  5. Land on your page

Guests arrive on a landing page made for your venue, with tiles for specials, meal deals, games, events and rewards. Offers and a welcome email reach them while they are still with you, and the same campaign shows on your screens.

  6. Claim the deal, and staff scan it

The guest rubs the tile to reveal the deal and taps claim. A QR code or a unique number appears. A staff member allowed to scan reads the code or enters the number, and the deal is redeemed. Staff need to allow camera access on the phone or tablet they scan with.

  7. Tell us how it went

On the way out, an exit survey gives you and the brand direct feedback on the visit.

What's included with the venue Wi-Fi

Set up for each venue and each Wi-Fi access point, as a service.

What comes with each membership level

Your venue tier (Bronze to Platinum) ranks your venue on the five criteria in the tier table below; your membership level (Bronze, Silver or Gold, with a tailored package for Platinum sites) is what you choose to pay for each month, and the two are set separately.

The full list of features and prices for each membership level is in the membership table in "How venues earn, and what it costs". Ticketing is linked for Gold and Platinum venues.

Top and bottom banners and brand campaigns appear when brands book your venue, or when you book them for your own promotions: see the venue partner packages below.

On a 70/30 revenue share, 30% comes to you: R30 to R45, R45 to R66 or R66 to R84 per 1,000 views. Platinum is agreed on request. Busier venues earn more. What your screens could earn each month

Brand advertising is extra monthly revenue for your venue. Brands pay per 1,000 ad views on your screens (CPM), set by your venue tier. On a 70/30 revenue share, 30% comes to you and 70% to Hello Brand.

What brands pay, per 1,000 ad views, off-peak to peak, excl. VAT

Brand spend is the ad views divided by 1,000, times the CPM. At a Silver venue with 60,000 peak views a month, brands spend 60 × R220 = R13,200, and 30% of that, R3,960, comes to the venue. Off-peak, at R150, that is R9,000 and R2,700.

Illustration only, not a forecast or guarantee. What a venue earns depends on the brand campaigns booked in it and the views verified on its screens.

Campaign activations are extra revenue on top: sampling, promotions and ticketed events that brands run at your venue. What each one brings depends on the campaign.

What a venue takes on when it joins as a tier partner: promote your specials, events and what's on with the same formats brands use.

These are the prices your venue pays for its own promotions, per venue, per month. They are separate from the membership and the Brand Box rental above. Brands don't pay these prices: they pay per 1,000 ad views, and your venue earns 30% of that.
