Chapter 1 of 7
The brief
Introduce Flying Fish Seltzer to adult guests at Tiger's Milk, find out how they understood the new drink, and track its share of cider category sales before and during the campaign.
A new drink needs more than shelf space: guests have to know what it is and have a reason to order one. Tiger's Milk guests already connected to the free TIGERS JUNGLE Wi-Fi, which put a branded web app in their hands at the table. Flying Fish used it to reach them in the venue, reward them for a quick answer, and push a deal they could order straight away.

The idea

FFS! Stand a chance to win Flying Fish Seltzer for a year.
One playful line carried the whole campaign, with its own sign-off: “FFS! is Flying Fish Seltzer of course.” Every guest who answered a question was entered into the draw, and two bar deals gave them a reason to order now: any 2 for R60, or a bucket of 4 for R100.

- Learn how guests understood what Flying Fish Seltzer is
- Reward insight with a chance to win
- Turn attention into orders at the bar
- Track its share of cider sales, before and during

On screen, in the venue
The brand's own advert ran on the venue TVs, framed by a Flying Fish squeeze back or carried with a bottom scroller that pointed guests to the chance to win.

Four ways in
The TV caught the eye; the web app on every guest's phone did the rest. The campaign's banners sat on the app guests were already using for the menu and specials.

Every mechanic, in detail
Five working parts: the Wi-Fi log-in, the banners, the question, the scratch-and-win, and the sales tracking behind it.
Own the log-in
Guests connected to the free TIGERS JUNGLE Wi-Fi. Signing up once gave the platform a real profile (name, number, email, age and sex), with the POPIA and privacy terms ticked, and landed the guest on the venue's captive portal, where brands could talk directly to the people in the room.

Banners in the app
Two placements, both approved before launch. A home banner sat at the top of every page in the app; a lead banner ran at the top of selected pages and linked straight to the offer page. Tapping the brand's advert was how a guest started earning a reward.

Value for a question700+
To redeem, a guest answered one multiple-choice question, shown at random from the brand's question bank. More than 700 guests answered. The questions profiled the drinker as well as the drink:
- When are you most likely to drink Flying Fish?
- What are your interests?
- Is Flying Fish the perfect drink, but better?
- What would you eat with a Flying Fish?
- Do you follow Flying Fish on social media?
- Which social media platform do you prefer?
- Which kind of alcohol do you drink most?
- What is your favourite sport?
- What music are you into at the moment?
- Bottle, glass or can?
The answers to three of them are in the audience chapter below.
Rub, reveal, verify
The answer opened a rub tile: a virtual scratch card. The reveal tile entered the guest into the draw, and the screen was shown at the bar, where the store manager verified the reward before it was handed over.
